A TIME FOR CHANGE AND EMANCIPATION

Somaliland, a self-declared independent region in the Horn of Africa, has stood in a state of perdition for the past 33 years under the leadership of egoist, dishonest, heinous, tribally obsessed, worthless, and stagnant figures. Following the collapse of the Somali government in 1991, the SNM, a group comprised of 100% of one tribe rebels, called for a temporary peace deal with tribal leaders in order to create stability and peace within the region. However, what was promised as a temporary arrangement for peace soon turned into a coup d’état, leading to the declaration of secession and the establishment of a separate regional government.

The initial constitution of the SNM claimed to uphold the unity of Somalia as sacred and that their goal was to remove a corrupt and dictatorial government. However, this was merely a façade as the leaders of Somaliland continued to lie to their people for 33 years about the prospect of recognition and prosperity. Promises of international recognition and agreements with neighboring countries were made, only to be broken time and time again.

One such recent example is the fake Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was purported to give Somaliland recognition by Ethiopia in exchange for a sovereign access to the sea, including a naval base, port, and corridor. This agreement, however, was met with widespread condemnation and rejection by both the Somaliland population and the international community. More than 90% of Somalilanders, as well as all Somali nationals, expressed their disapproval of the deal, leading to a rift within the region and the potential for violent conflict.

The promise of a separate Somaliland is now dead, with the region on the verge of losing territories like Sool and Sanag to Somalia Federation. Awdal is also considering departure, further fracturing the loose unity within Somaliland. Confidence in the leadership has waned, and the prospect of free and fair elections seems out of reach. The echoes of the civil strife that plagued the region in 1994 are growing louder, with the potential for history to repeat itself.

The international community and organizations have also condemned the actions of the Somaliland government, further isolating the region and hindering any progress towards stability and development. The leadership’s disregard for the will of the people and their pursuit of personal gains has led Somaliland down a path of uncertainty and potential conflict.

Democratic and fruitful debates and free discussion must begin before it is too late. Somalilanders can no longer afford time wasted. The people must exercise freedom and decide their fate and destiny. The yoke must break and fall apart.

In conclusion, the 33 years of perdition under the leadership of egoist, dishonest, and tribally obsessed figures have left Somaliland in a state of stagnation and division. The false promises, lies, and deceit of the ruling elite have eroded the trust of the people and alienated the region from the international community. It is time for a change in leadership and a renewed commitment to eternal unity, peace, and progress for the people of Somaliland and Somalia
